Our Website

The St John's website is managed by Andrew Scott.

This new site was launched on Sunday 16th November 2008 and is hosted on the Church Insight platform from Endis Ltd.

We spent several weeks considering a range of Content Management Systems (CMS) and website platforms before settling on Church Insight as the best mix of website management and church administration support. No other system had the range of tools specifically designed to support churches in the wide range of activities that are undertaken each day.

Church Insight also has the benefits of being UK based and offering excellent support.

We then used Pete Sandeman from 3SixtyCreative to help us develop the site theme and layouts - Pete has the combination of design skills and experience implementing Church Insight websites. Our logo and the supporting templates for our letterheads, Powerpoint and other materials were developed in-house at St John's.

The previous website was developed in-house at St John's and was hard to replace in terms of the functionality if offered the church - the downside being that it was reliant on those in-house skills for all development.

We see the website as both a window into the church for anyone wanting to explore what St John's has to offer and a tool to faciliate the communication and administration of our church community.

Our launch has been a big milestone but we have plans for expanding and growing the site over the coming months, including:

an online catalogue of alternative gifts (done!)
a digital magazine (done!)
forums and chat
mobile version of the site (done!)
